Barrier-free tour of Subtropisches Badeparadies
The entrance to Subtropisches Badeparadies is located between Grandma's Coffee & Candy and the American Diner in the Dünengalerie. After the cash desk area, a staircase leads down/up to the changing rooms. Barrier-free access is via a separate, ground-level side entrance that leads directly into the lower anteroom of the changing rooms.
The pram room is directly to the right of the entrance. If you go straight ahead, there is the adventure shower on the left and the non-nude sauna behind it on the right. The path leads to the left in a curve. Located in the following order, there are the barrier-free changing room, access to the changing rooms, the men's toilet with shower, the body dryer, the collective changing room, the lockers, the changing rooms, access to the bathing area, the ladies' toilet with shower and the nappy-changing room. This is followed by a staircase that is not barrier-free. The pool area begins after the passageway.
Once you pass through the passageway you have the following options:
To your right - the wave area:
Straight ahead and slightly to the right you reach the wave pool. Entry into the water is via a gently sloping pool edge without steps or a ramp. Around the pool there is the resting area with lounging shells and seating areas, which are accessible via a slightly ascending, step-free ramp. There is a screen above the wave pool, which is used for cinema evenings as well as image films of Weissenhäuser Strand.
To your left - family and slide area:
If you keep to the left after the passageway, you will first see the rainforest shower, then the ladies' toilet on the right and the steam bath to the left. The Schatzkiste shop is located approximately in the centre of the corridor, where bathing equipment is available and lounging shells can be reserved.
Further on, you will reach the bistro with seating on the left-hand side. Then the family area follows: straight ahead is the toddler area, then the bottom of the slide, on the right-hand side there is the access to the yellow turbo slide and blue combination slide, followed by the waterfall showers and the children's slide.
If you keep to the right in the family area, you will reach the children's pool. Behind it, further straight ahead, there is the ‘Water World’ large water play area. Somewhat hidden behind it is the entrance to the red tyre slide.
The wild water channel starts further up on the right-hand side of the hall near the gallery, and winds its way down through the pool at floor level towards the swimming grotto, where it ends. The gallery and deck areas are located on the upper floor above the slide area and are only accessible via stairs.
At the lower end of the hall looking straight ahead from the white water channel you will find the white water pool, the swimming grotto, the waterfall, the whirlpool grotto and the piranha pool. Directly opposite on the right-hand side, there is the information counter with a lifeguard.
At the end of this path there are the entrances to the steep slide and the 3-zone wave slide. These entrances are only accessible via stairs.
The entire facility is only partially barrier-free. Entry into the water is only possible in the wave pool area.
