Barrier-free tour of Abenteuer Dschungelland
The main entrance to Abenteuer Dschungelland is at ground level and is barrier-free. A wide central main path begins directly behind it. There is a small waterfall on the left-hand side of the entrance area. On the right-hand side inside there is an enclosure with guinea pigs, which can be seen at ground level.
After a few metres you pass the cash desk in the middle. There is a small souvenir shop on the left. Behind it there is a glass terrarium with insects, which bears the name "Insect tower".
The path continues straight ahead to an animal exhibition with several terrariums, also visible at ground level. To the left of this is a frog tower - another terrarium at viewing height. This is followed by enclosures with caimans, monitor lizards, parrots and terrariums with reptiles. These areas are also accessible without steps.
This is where the front of the animal area of the ground floor ends. The high ropes course and the entire climbing zone are only accessible via a staircase to the upper floor and are therefore not barrier-free. There is no lift or other means of access.
If you follow the path towards the rear of the hall you will reach the "Hapa Hapa" self-service restaurant on the left-hand side. It has a barrier-free access. The interior is open-plan with several groups of tables. The ordering area with serving counter and a sales counter for ice cream and popcorn are located directly in the centre of the room. Seating is also available opposite the serving counter.
The upper floor is only accessible via a wide staircase. Upstairs there are various play and leisure areas: air hockey, pit-pat, laser game, pool, table tennis, badminton, basketball and football. In addition, there are more seats of the self-service restaurant.
Also on the upper floor and only accessible via stairs there are further play stations: including air hockey, pit-pat, laser game, pool, table tennis, badminton, basketball, football and additional seating. There are also the pirate cinema, the music room, the rotating barrel, the sugar glider (a free-swinging climbing element), the burial chamber, the tactile labyrinth, and the mirror labyrinth. The large "Balu City" climbing area with roller slide, bouncy castle, climbing wall for children and the unforgettable goal are also part of this upper area and are not barrier-free.
The Dschungelrestaurant with entrance, kitchen, bush bar and outdoor terrace is also located at the rear of the facility. Access to the terrace is without steps. There is also a barrier-free toilet and a separate toilet for all guests in Dschungelrestaurant area.
The entire facility is partially barrier-free on the ground floor. The entire upper floor is only accessible via stairs. The exit to the outside is at the end of the tour via the souvenir shop in the entrance area.
