The Holiday and Resort Park Weissenhäuser Strand supported the "First Responder Unit" project with a donation to the German Red Cross unit Göhl. In emergencies, every minute counts - which is why the First Responder Team is called in parallel to the ambulance. With the donation, emergency vehicles and equipment can be financed.

A jump into safety
The Holiday and Resort Park Weissenhäuser Strand donated a jumping sheet for the rescue of trapped persons to the Döhnsdorf-Weissenhaus fire brigade. The donation was handed over on site in the “Alm” event location. Among others, Carsten Seehase, Mayor Christin Voß, Managing Director David Depenau and Torsten Falk were present.

Together we are strong
After a serious fire at the voluntary fire brigade in Oldenburg in Holstein which broke out in the engine house and caused very extensive damage, the Holiday and Resort Park made a donation in support of the voluntary fire brigade in Oldenburg in Holstein and the comrades of the neighbouring volunteer fire brigade in Döhnsdorf-Weißenhaus.

New perspectives
The football boot of the famous world football player Pelé was made available to the Kultur Palast Hamburg foundation free of charge. The foundation then organised an auction in which the Holiday and Resort Park participated and won. The proceeds went to the foundation, which works to help children and young people from disadvantaged areas to have fair educational opportunities and prospects.

Because children are our future
In February 2020, the Weissenhäuser Strand Holiday and Resort Park made a donation to the German Childhood Cancer Foundation. For this purpose, big Christmas presents for the customers of the popular holiday resort were dispensed with in 2019, so that the amount saved could be invested in a charitable cause.

Flea market for a good cause
The Holiday and Resort Park Weissenhäuser Strand participated in the big indoor flea market. The stand was represented by the Rotaract Club Ostholstein. The youth organisation stands up for others according to the motto “Learn - Help - Celebrate” and contributes to international understanding through fairness and tolerance. The amount raised from the WHS flea market was rounded up by the Rotaract Club and donated to the "Tiere in Not Heiligenhafen - Fehmarn e.V.” animal aid association.

Birth of the Rotaract Club
On 08 October 2019, the Rotaract Club Ostholstein was founded in the Möwenbräu restaurant of the Holiday and Resort Park. At the same time, the donation of the Rotary sponsors and various smaller donations, including those from the Haye company, Famila Oldenburg in Holstein, Reklamewerkstatt as well as Ton&Text, were handed over to serve as start-up capital for the new club.

SOS Children's Village
The Holiday and Resort Park supported the SOS Children's Village with a donation. The organisation helps children in need worldwide and provides a secure future. Among other things, this ensures that the costs for school books or drinking water supply are covered.

A heart for children
On 26 June 2019, a new attraction was officially opened: "The unforgettable goal". This is the original World Cup goal from the final match in Rio de Janeiro of the 2014 World Cup. In the 113th minute Mario Götze scored the decisive winning goal. The original World Cup goal was auctioned on eBay by the Holiday and Resort Park. The proceeds went to "Ein Herz für Kinder e.V.".

Lost property in our Holiday Park
What actually happens to the numerous lost property items in our Holiday and Resort Park? All unclaimed lost property was sold at the annual indoor flea market for a good cause. The proceeds went to the Familienkiste family centre in Lübeck. The family centre, founded in 2007, does valuable work for socially disadvantaged families in day care. The donation is used for outdoor toys such as bicycles and bobbycars.

Flea market proceeds support cancer aid
The proceeds from the annual flea market were donated to the Lübeck-Hilfe für krebskranke Kinder e.V. association which helps children suffering from cancer. On Wednesday, 14 February 2018, the cheque was handed over to Tanja Feddern. The Children's Cancer Charity uses the money to enable children suffering from cancer to receive therapies that are not covered by the health insurance. The costs for wigs, among other things, are also not covered.

Kicking for kids
On 08 September 2017, the charity tournament "Kicken für Kinder" (Kicking for children) took place at the OSV stadium in Oldenburg in Holstein for the benefit of the OSV's youth work. The event was supported by the Holiday and Resort Park. "Sport is enormously important for the development of children and adolescents. This year, we wanted to do our utmost to ensure that even more children benefit from it and that is why we are once again participating in the tournament," explained David Depenau, Managing Director of the Holiday and Resort Park Weissenhäuser Strand.

Flea market for a good cause
The Holiday and Resort Park was represented with its own stand at the annual indoor flea market. The proceeds went to the Rotaract Club as a donation to support the young members. More than 3,700 members in more than 190 Rotaract clubs throughout Germany are committed to fairness and tolerance.

Manuel Neuer Foundation
The Manuel Neuer Kids Foundation was founded by Manuel Neuer in 2010 and supports children and young people from socially disadvantaged families. We have been supporting this organisation since 2013 by organising annual trips to the Holiday and Resort Park. The Manuel Neuer Kids Foundation covers travel costs, food and care for children and young people, while we provide accommodation and free admission to the attractions.

School swimming at the Am Wasserquell primary school
Regional support: Pupils from Oldenburg come to the Subtropische Badeparadies at Weissenhäuser Strand for school swimming. The swimming lessons are run by our professional staff, who teach safety and fun in the water. The Subtropische Badeparadies is available free of charge for this.

The Ostholsteiner (sheltered workshops)
The Ostholsteiner is a non-profit organisation that represents the interests of people with disabilities and their right to self-determination and to plan their own lives. The Holiday and Resort Park has been supporting the Ostholsteiner workshops for more than 12 years by continuous cooperation. Whether it's sending postcards to our regular guests or preparing our Christmas tree decorations - these and other handicrafts are done by the Ostholsteiners.

Johanniter first aider book for kids
In 2022, the Holiday and Resort Park supported the funding of the Johanniter book "Ersthelfer von morgen“ (First aiders of tomorrow). The colouring and workbook gently and playfully introduces children to the topics of first aid, bodily functions and safety in road traffic, and they can practise correct behaviour. The books are handed out free of charge to the children in the day-care centres and primary schools as part of the training.

Nestwerk e.V.
Since 1999, the Hamburgische Initiative für Jugendarbeit e.V. (Hamburg initiative for youth work), NestWerk for short, has been supporting children and young people from socially disadvantaged neighbourhoods with free sports, leisure and educational activities in order to show them perspectives. In March 2022, the Holiday and Resort Park Weissenhäuser Strand supported the "GameChanger” project. The youth group was provided with all accommodation, entrance fees to the attractions and a room for their workshop free of charge. With the help of a 90-minute football training session and a workshop with topics such as respect, fairness and healthy nutrition, the young people were taught important values for life.
